Our weather has been gorgeous lately, which means we spend as much time outside as possible! Kids starting to get stir crazy? The front door opens and out they go. It is amazing what as little as 15 minutes running around outside can do for attention spans and to calm the chaos! We have even been doing some of our lesson plans outside. What do you do when the kids start complaining about being bored outside though? Teach them how to make flower bracelets. All you need is packing tape, duct tape or even scotch tape!
Craft Classes for Kids
We had so much fun teaching cooking classes for kids last week, and love this week’s virtual camp theme of crafts for kids! Don’t forget to join our Facebook group to see our live classes and follow us on Pinterest, so you won’t miss a thing! You definitely need to follow Hannah at Inspired Sparks too, because she is posting all kinds of awesome videos to teach kids about science, crafts and cooking! Here are the links for the other craft classes we have done thus far, in case you missed any:
- How to Make Envelopes (the perfect way to get your kids excited to write!)
- Tissue Paper Flowers (these HUGE flowers make awesome decoration and are so fun to make!)
- How to Make a Face Mask at Home (so easy that your kids can sew it themselves)
- DIY Face Mask “Ear Saver” with Rainbow Loom Bands (this will be THE back to school item of the year!!!)

DIY Flower Bracelets with Packing Tape
We love to take nature walks outside and to make DIY flower tape bracelets! They are super fun for the kids to create and the options are endless. Don’t worry if there are no flowers (or pesky weeds like dandelions) nearby. You can make a DIY nature bracelet out of small pretty leaves instead!
How to Make Flower Bracelets (with Packing Tape!)
Cut a piece of duct tape (love these fun colors!) or clear packing tape that is long enough to wrap around your cutie’s wrist, plus a little extra.
Create a sticky bracelet around their wrist with the tape. Make sure that the sticky side is facing out, so that the flowers have a surface to stick to. Also, keep in mind that you don’t want to make the bracelet super tight, because that makes it harder to cut it off at the end of the day.

Now comes the fun part! Go explore the nature outside and pick pretty flowers and small leaves to stick onto the tape bracelet. My kids will literally spend an hour obsessing over finding the perfect flowers for their creations.
We would love to see the flower and nature bracelets that you make! Please share photos of your flower jewelry in our Facebook Group and Facebook Page!
