We receive TONS of questions in the Parent Vault Facebook group and our Hot Deals Facebook group everyday about how to decorate a homeschool room on a budget. We started off by making these DIY labels (which will blow your mind!!!), but now it is time to take it a step further! Many of our children are going to have some level of virtual learning this school year, and all of us want to be prepared! Several members of our group have even created free printables (that are GORGEOUS and inspiration!) You will find links to print these below, along with other great items to decorate your homeschool / distance learning spaces!

How to Decorate Your Homeschool Space
Setting the mood and atmosphere for your homeschool space can have a dramatic impact on your children’s ability to focus and enjoy their lessons. Here are a few inexpensive ways to decorate your homeschool room on a budget!
Succulents
There is a fantastic thread in our Facebook group about the importance of “little fake plants” or succulents for an 8th graders homeschool space. These trendy plants are all the rage! Grab a few to decorate your kids’ desks or learning area. Pick from these adorable faux succulents or these live succulents. They are surprisingly easy to take care of and it is a great way to teach responsibility!
3-Tier Metal Storage Shelf
I love this 3-tire metal mesh storage shelf, which is equally adorable and functional. It comes in neutral colors, but I really like the fun pop of color that you get with the turquoise option!
Cavallini Vintage Posters
I can’t say enough about how beautiful these Cavallini Vintage Posters are in real life. They are educational, but would easily fit in with your house decor as well! I have several and plan to swap them out throughout the year, to keep things interesting. My three favorites are the following:
Woven Storage Baskets
We seem to end up with a lot of extra “stuff” laying around our virtual learning space. I find that giving each child their own woven storage basket works wonders for keeping the area tidy. Here are my two favorites:
- Extra large woven basket (18″ tall x 16″ diameter)
- Regular sized woven rope basket (13″ tall x 15″ diameter)
Table Organizer Baskets
The woven baskets above are awesome for holding larger items, but you definitely also want a basket on the table to keep smaller items organized. I love the look of these rustic metal baskets.

Homeschool Decor Free Printables
I’m obsessed with these inspirational, free printables to decorate our virtual learning spaces!!! These were made by an incredible lady named Katie B. in our Facebook group and she has kindly allowed us to share it with you for FREE.
