Ever since our Dragon Lesson Plan, all of you in our Facebook Group have been asking for a Unicorn Lesson Plan to go with the mythical creatures topic! My girls were especially happy to be the “guinea pigs” to test out all of these awesome educational resources, while wearing their unicorn headbands (obviously!) We will make unicorn STEM projects including a three layered unicorn hand soap to learn about density in liquids, changing-color unicorn pasta and a DIY unicorn waterfall. Plus, we put together an excellent collection of free unicorn worksheets, printables and games to practice math, reading and writing. There are even recipes for a Starbucks Copycat Unicorn Frappuccino and unicorn cupcakes baked inside of ice cream cones (with a surprise in the middle!) And, of course, there are a ton of DIY unicorn crafts including a bobble head unicorn (made out of paper!) and sparkly unicorn corner bookmark. But, before we begin, join our Facebook Group and follow us on Pinterest, so you won’t miss out on any of our educational fun!

Unicorn Activities for Kids: Free Worksheets, Math Printables, STEM Unicorn Projects

🧪 Unicorn STEM Projects for Kids

Below are tons of great unicorn STEM projects to choose from! If you want a unicorn science kit (these make awesome birthday presents!), I would highly recommend this Unicorn Night Light Terrarium Kit or this Make Your Own Unicorn Soap Kit.

DIY Unicorn Waterfall

Your kids will be mesmerized by this awesome unicorn waterfall! All you need is baking soda, vinegar and food coloring.

Unicorn Pasta (That Changes Color!)

My kids had so much fun with this DIY Rainbow Pasta Recipe! They will be blown away when they see this unicorn pasta that changes color!

DIY Unicorn Soap

Washing our hands properly is a major topic of discussion around our house lately. Anything we can do to make our kids excited about washing their hands is a big win in my book! Let’s make unicorn soap that has three different layers that do not mix. It is a great way to learn about density in liquids! You will need the following items:

  • a clear soap bottle
  • clear gel soap
  • food coloring
  • blue gel hand soap
  • foam soap
  • baby oil
  • glitter (This is optional and I would personally pass because all I can think about is how glitter tends to spread everywhere!)

Edible Unicorn STEM Project

If there is one thing that my kids like more than STEM projects, it is edible STEM projects!!! Watch these DIY edible science experiments in “unicorn” inspired colors! Then make dancing worms, starburst edible slime, honeycomb and sherbet.

Narwhals: Unicorns of the Sea

Have you heard about narwhals? They are nicknamed “unicorns of the sea.” Watch this video to learn about them!
